"Just a note of 'Thank You' for sorting out an exercise regime for me involving Power Plate, it has worked so very well. The problem was joint pain in my knee and ankle when driving my car. This is probably something to do with my age ( 72 ), rheumatism or arthritis. The doctor's remedy was to be an operation or/and painkillers. Your regime appears to have had a two fold effect. In spite of the cold weather the pain in my knee seems to have gone completely and my ankle pain is far more intermittent. The mixture of cycling, Power Plate and weight training is doing the trick. In addition to this I also feel a lot less tired now after playing 18 holes of golf. And all of this achieved after only two months work, it is just great. I shall endeavour to keep the good work up. Thank you very much."

"Ben offers a service not just as an advisor for how to reach your goals faster but can offer a service that goes beyond simply working you harder or giving more effective workout ideas. I’ve been a regular gym goer for years and with my ongoing back problems I was sceptical as to whether a personal trainer could show me anything I didn’t already know or that wouldn’t be detrimental to my back condition. But after one session Ben demonstrated that there are many exercises and stretches that I had not seen or even heard of before, not only that but the exercises complimented my back problem and actually helped reduce my back pain meaning I am now regularly getting much more out of my workout. As well as hugely helpful guidance on exercise Ben’s nutritional knowledge is clearly very strong and I’ll continue to practise all the things he’s shown me."

"I have trained with Ben Mann for the past 5 months at the Notting Hill Harbour Club. As both a Physiotherapist and Mum of two young children, I have appreciated Ben's enthusiastic and expert training. He combines many years of training experience with his own disciplined approach to exercise and nutrition to challenge, motivate and vary my programme. I have tried personal training sessions in the past to guide my program, but training with Ben has changed both my attitude to exercise and the way that I train. The main achievements so far have been:
- Increased motivation to exercise and ability to fit 3+ gym sessions/week into my previously over scheduled week
- Increased fitness
- Increased strength/tone
- Improved posture/decreased neck pain

"You think your fit..you work out a bit, play a bit of sport but maybe have a little bit of indulgent urban lifestyle of good food and booze and one day you step on one of those scales and fat content machines and the results are kind of shock. You are out nick and realise actually you’ve just been going through the motions in the gym and that relaxed muscle around your stomach is actually a reservoir of martinis, fries and lemon tarts. If this is you then Bens your man. His work outs are fun, interesting and always different...you’ll do loads of stuff you’ve never done before and some stuff you thought you done had but hadn’t really... he’ll improve your technique and make sure your not cheating. He imparts little pebbles of knowledge here and there about your diet or your boozing, before you know it you have engaged in some permanent behavioural modification; you lose the martini tummy and enter into a virtuous circle of becoming fitter and indeed fit so that you can work harder at your next session. It’s amazing I actually look forward to the punishment as I know I’ll be pushed enough to make a difference but not too much to put me off coming again. Ben...not bad for an egg chaser!”

"I started training with Ben with two immediate goals; an increase in weight and muscle hypertrophy. Ten months later, I’ve gained 5 kilos in weight and my body shape has changed radically – I now have much more muscle tone and core strength together with a lower body fat percentage. I’ve found Ben intuitive, patient and attentive and I’m thrilled with my improved physicality which has translated directly into my career as an actor and singer."

"I have achieved a phenomenal transformation – I never believed all the stuff about changing body shape, the mental effect of PT, I thought I was too old for such change, but I was wrong!"

"Dear Ben, I wanted to thank you for all your support and help over the last year in respect of the personal training sessions I have received. They were immensely enjoyable and I believe I have really progressed in my physical abilities. In particular I have advanced in my yoga classes and have achieved the upper body strength, which we highlighted as a key objective, to the point that I am able to complete some of the more demanding yoga poses. Indeed both the Yoga teachers at Holmes Place, Jana and Dory have commented on my improved stature and ability in my yoga practice since starting the personal training sessions."

"I would not have done the Nike 10k without Bens help. Ben is very consistent in his temperament which I appreciate. I have felt very supported in my fitness goals."

"About a year ago, I went to a physiotherapist for some back problems that I’d been having on and off for a couple of years. I’d also been going to the gym (again on and off a bit) for a couple of years, but I’d never really seen any massive improvements. The physio suggested getting some personal training to help strengthen my back. That’s when I met Ben. After telling him my woeful story of back injuries, we started training twice a week. My commitment to making myself better was only surpassed by Ben’s commitment to helping me. I can’t actually remember the last time I had any back pain. I feel cured. That’s the first thing I wanted to than Ben for.
I guess the point of all this is to say how much I appreciate everything that Ben’s done for me, and taught me. I’m moving to Sydney in a few days, and it really is with great sadness that my time training with Ben has come to an end. It’s actually one of the few things that I really will miss about London. Sure I’ll easily find another trainer in Sydney, but I don’t think any would ever be as good as Ben is. His commitment to peoples goals, and willingness to put himself out for his clients, shows that he’s willing to go that little bit further than he has to. As far as I can see, his technical knowledge is unparalleled, especially with regard to corrective work, as was the case with me. His ability to motivate is incredible – I looked forward to every single PT session that I had, and never really wanted them to end (except for when I was completely exhausted).
I always feel that people never really get credit where it’s due. Ben has basically changed my life – I train five or six times a week diligently. I drink less and eat far healthier and basically feel like a healthy strong human being, plus I know that I have the commitment and drive to continue to train. When back in London on business trips, and if at all possible, I’d like to train with Ben every now and then, just for old time’s sake. I’ll be keeping in contact with Ben, but I just wanted you to know what a fantastic member of your team you have. Without him, I wouldn’t be what I am today. I wish you all the best for the future. And if you ever open a gym in Sydney, you know who should get the head trainers job..."
